MHKY | Voyageurs Drop Two Straight at Home
On Saturday night, the Voyageurs men's hockey team lost 5-3 to the Laurier Golden Hawks, making it their second loss in as many nights.

The Vees opened the scoring at 12:47 of the first period as Richard Therrien scored his second goal of the season. Xavier Couture and Nicolas Dionne assisted on the play.

There were no more goals until Lucas Batt tied the game early in the second as he beat Joel Vienneau on a solo effort.

Laurier grabbed the lead shortly after when Brandon Robinson scored at 5:58, giving the Golden Hawks the 2-1 advantage.

Anthony Conti increased Laurier's lead to 3-1 in the final moments of the second period, when he scored at 19:31.

Laurier again struck first in the third as Mitch Wright beat Vienneau at 3:31 of the third period, putting the Vees down 4-1.

Blake Forslund answered for the Voyageurs, cutting Laurier's lead in half at 9:55 of the third. Cray Roberge and Khaydyn Butterfly assisted on the play.

Jeremy Pullara rallied the Golden Hawks sixth goal of the evening at 16:13 of the third, making the comeback difficult for the Vees.

Therrien would score his second of the game late, on a play assisted by Jacob Smith and Cray Roberge, but that would be as close as the Vees would come.

With the loss, the Vees were 0-2 on their first weekend at home of the season. The boys look to get back in the win column next weekend.
