Huskies run into hot goaltender in 2-0 loss to Aigles Bleus

The Saint Mary's Huskies fired 39 shots on net but were unable to beat Université de Moncton Aigles Bleus goaltender Étienne Montpetit, as the Aigles Bleus defeated the Huskies 2-0 on Friday night in Moncton at the J.-Louis-Lévesque Arena in front of over 660 spectators.

The Aigles Bleus opened the scoring in the final minute of the first period, as Mika Cyr lifted the puck over Huskies goalltender Matt Welsh (Halifax, NS).

There was no score in the second and Nathaël Roy (unassisted) took advantage of an open net late in the third period to secure the victory for his team.

Étienne Montpetit stopped 39 Huskies shots and was named Subway Player of the Game.

Matt Welsh saved 30 of 32 shots faced and was named the game's second star.

The Aigles Bleus win improved their record to 7-4 on the season. They'll be back on home ice on Saturday night as they host the Acadia Axemen.

The Huskies loss dropped their record to 6-4 on the season. They'll be back on the road on Saturday night as they head to Fredericton to take on the UNB REDS.
