RECAP: Scott with lone goal in 2-1 exhibition loss to St. Lawrence University
The Gee-Gees spent Tuesday night in Canton, New York to play an exhibition game against the St. Lawrence University Saints.
Ottawa was tested from start to finish, ultimately falling 2-1.
The Saints were the first on the board, sneaking one past rookie goaltender, Lauren MacKay. The B.C. product refused to let anything else past her before Mahika Sarrazin stepped in for the second half of the game.
Taylor Scott tied things up for the Gee-Gees late into the second period, left all alone with the Saints' goaltender, she sent the puck directly to the top right corner of the net.
A tie game at 1-1 made for a thrilling third period.
A redirect right outside the crease sent the puck over Sarrazin's head and into the net, giving St. Lawrence a 2-1 lead.
With 1:06 left on the clock, the Gee-Gees had a late powerplay opportunity. Even with extra skaters on the ice, Ottawa was unable to find a goal in their last-minute effort, and ultimately dropped the game 2-1.
The Gee-Gees have some more preseason action on the schedule this week, hosting the Western Mustangs on Sep. 29th at 7 P.M. Tickets are available at teams.geegees.ca/tickets.
