Panthers Second-Half Goal Defeats Mounties

(SACKVILLE, NB) The Mount Allison Mounties men's soccer team returned to Alumni Field on Sunday afternoon to play host to the UPEI Panthers on Homecoming weekend in Sackville. 

Mount Allison would have the better of the chances in the first half, but neither team was able to open the scoring in the first 45 as the teams would return to the locker rooms deadlocked at 0.

The opening and winning goal would come in the 54^th minute as a well-played long pass from Riad Jaha found the foot of Jahmal Boursiquot who was able to finish and give the visitors a hard-earned 3 points on the road with the 1-0 victory.

UPEI (2-4-1, 6^th in conference) will play their next match on Sunday, September 29th against the Acadia Axemen at home in Charlottetown with kick-off set for 3:15pm. Mount Allison (1-6-0, 10^th in conference) will welcome local rival Université de Moncton on Thursday, September 26^th with kick-off set for 7:15pm.
