(SACKVILLE, NB) The Mount Allison Mounties men's soccer team returned to Alumni Field on Sunday afternoon to play host to the UPEI Panthers on Homecoming weekend in Sackville.
Mount Allison would have the better of the chances in the first half, but neither team was able to open the scoring in the first 45 as the teams would return to the locker rooms deadlocked at 0.
The opening and winning goal would come in the 54th minute as a well-played long pass from Riad Jaha found the foot of Jahmal Boursiquot who was able to finish and give the visitors a hard-earned 3 points on the road with the 1-0 victory.
UPEI (2-4-1, 6th in conference) will play their next match on Sunday, September 29th against the Acadia Axemen at home in Charlottetown with kick-off set for 3:15pm. Mount Allison (1-6-0, 10th in conference) will welcome local rival Université de Moncton on Thursday, September 26th with kick-off set for 7:15pm.
