The nationally fourth-ranked Gee-Gees women's basketball team powered to a pair of victories on the road against division rivals on Friday and Saturday. Ottawa first defeated Laurentian 74-52 to commence the weekend, before closing it with an emphatic 91-51 win at Nipissing the following night.

Off the bench, Bailey Russell had the hot hand coming off the bench with a 13-point, four-steal performance in the win.
In all, the Ottawa defensive pressure helped cause 31 Laurentian turnovers, where the Gee-Gees created 34 of their points.
The following night was an even more dominant showing in North Bay, where Ottawa had five scorers in double figures en route to a 40-point win.
The Gee-Gees were led by a lethal shooting night for Allie McCarthy, who hit five-of-seven threes and shot 9-13 overall for a career-high 25 points. McCarthy added four rebounds and a steal to round out the night.
Szczokin had 16 points and six steals, while Alissa Provo added 13, Russell had 12, and Ivany Rheault-Langué had 10 points and four assists in her first career regular season start.
Ottawa once again profited off their defensive pressure, pouring in 37 points off of 35 Lakers turnovers. Overall, the Gee-Gees shot 50.8 percent from the field and 44.8 percent from beyond the arc, while hitting 12-of-16 at the free throw line for a dazzling team shooting night.
