MONCTON, NB – Moncton forward Michael Cyr scored a pair of goals, leading the Aigles Bleues to a 6-2 win over the Saint Mary's Huskies in Atlantic University Sport men's hockey action on Saturday night at the J.-Louis-Lévesque Arena in Moncton.
The Aigles Bleus outshot the Huskies 45-23 on the night, with Olivier Adam making 21 save for the win, while Ben West turned away 39 shots in defeat.
The Aigles Bleus win improved their record to 16-8-2-0 on the season, good for second place in the AUS standings.
The Huskies loss drops their record to 14-10-2-0 on the campaign, tied for third place in the conference.
The Tigers win improves their record to 13-7-3-1 on the season. Dalhousie will be back in action next Saturday, Feb. 8, hosting the St. Thomas Tommies (14-7-2-1) at 7 p.m. at the Halifax Forum.
The Huskies loss earns them a single point, but drops their record to 9-8-4-2 on the campaign. Saint Mary's will hit the road on Sunday, Feb. 2, visiting the STFX X-Women (17-3-1-2) at 3 p.m. at the Charles V. Keating Arena in Antigonish, NS.
