(MONCTON, NB) The UNB REDS built a 4-0 first period lead and cruised to an 8-2 win over the Universite de Moncton Aigles Bleus in Atlantic University Sport men's hockey action, Friday night in Moncton.
Oscar Plandowski (Halifax, NS), Peter Reynolds (Fredericton, NB), Sean McGurn (Ottawa, ON), and Drew Elliott (Musquash, NB) scored for the REDS, all before the 13:41 mark of the opening frame, prompting an early Moncton time-out.

Reynolds scored his second of the game in the third period.
Samuel Richard (Ste. Catherine, QC) made 19 saves on 21 shots to earn the win in the UNB net.
Olivier Adam (Drummondville, QC) surrendered four goals on the 23 shots he faced in the Moncton net while Nathan Darveau (Rouyn Noranda, QC) allowed four goals on just ten shots.
Elliott, who finished the night with two goals and an assist, was named the game's first star.

With the win, the REDS are now 3-0-0-0 (W-L-OTL-SOL) and sit atop the AUS standings. The loss was Moncton's first after three straight wins to open the season.
In their three wins, the REDS have outscored opponents 19-4.
