Busby scores OT winner as Huskies defeat Aigles Bleus 3-2
HALIFAX, NS – Saint Mary's defenceman Dennis Busby scored the overtime winning goal, as the Huskies came from behind to defeat the Moncton Aigles Bleus 3-2 on Saturday night at the Dauphinee Centre in Halifax.
The first period saw the Huskies with several good scoring opportunities, but Aigles Bleus goaltender Nathan Darveau (Rouyn-Noranda, QC) shut the door.
It would be the Aigles Bleus who opened the scoring in the dying moments of the period, as forward Jeremy Michel (Lévis, QC) stole the puck at the Huskies blueline and sped in on goal, beating Huskies netminder Ben West (Barrie, ON) with a backhand deke for a powerplay goal, giving the visitors a 1-0 lead with 41 seconds remaining in the first.
The Huskies outshot the Aigles Bleus 12-11 through the opening 20 minutes, but it was the visitors who took a 1-0 lead into intermission.
Midway through the second period, the Aigles Bleus would double their lead, as forward Michael Horth (Ste. Catherine, QC) took a cross-ice pass from linemate David Doucet (Baie Sainte Anne, NB) and beat Ben West with a high shot to give the visitors a 2-0 lead.
The Huskies went onto the powerplay towards the end of the period and took advantage, with defenceman Dennis Busby (Oro-Medonte, ON) cycling the puck to forward Ben Allison (Halifax, NS) who uncorked a one-timer that went inside the near post and cut the Aigles Bleus lead to 2-1.

Once again, the Huskies outshot the Aigles Bleus 18-8 in the period to take a 30-19 advantage through 40 minutes, but it was the visitors who took a 2-1 lead into the second intermission.
Just over four minutes into the third, the Huskies tied it up as forward Nathan Dunkley (Campbellford, ON) played a cross-ice pass to Ben Allison, who faked a shot and dished a pass to Declan McDonnell (Buffalo, NY), who made a nifty deflection past Darveau into the Aigles Bleus goal to tie it up at 2-2.

Moncton nearly regained the lead midway through the period, as forward Charles-Edouard Drouin (St-Georges-de-Beuce, QC) fired a shot off of West's pad, with the rebound coming out to the stick of Jeremy Lapointe (Drummondville, QC), who looked to bang it into goal but was robbed by the glove of West to keep the game tied.

Late in the period, the Huskies were on the penalty kill when forward Will Chisholm (Lunenburg, NS) intercepted a pass and skated away on a shorthanded breakaway, but fired a shot off the post.
Just 36 seconds into overtime, the Huskies found the winner, as Allison was able to dig the puck off the wall onto the stick of Derek Gentile (Sydney, NS), who broke out on a two-on-one with defender Dennis Busby. Gentile's cross-ice pass was perfect, and Busby made no mistake, scoring his seventh goal of the year to give the Huskies the 3-2 overtime win.
