(SACKVILLE, NB) The Mount Allison Mounties men's soccer team returned to Alumni Field on Saturday afternoon to play host to the UNB Reds.
Hunter Delahunt would find the opener 18 minutes in for the visitors as he put home a well-played cross from Alex Oprea. The visitors would double their advantage just 3 minutes later as Olivier Menard would get the flick on from the corner kick into the back of the net. UNB would head into halftime with a 2-0 advantage.
The home side would not go down quietly however as Lucas Abbass brought the Mounties back to within 1 with his calm, collected finish. Pressure from the Mounties would be a staple of the second half, but it would be the Reds who would find the next goal courtesy of Andrew Ward to put UNB ahead 3-1, a scoreline that would remain until full time.
UNB (3-5-2, 6th in the conference) play their next match on Wednesday, October 16th on the road against Moncton with kick-off set for 7:15pm. Mount Allison (2-7-0, 10th in the conference) will return to Alumni Field tomorrow, October 6th at 3:15pm for their Senior Day match against Dalhousie.
