Sea-Hawks edge Panthers 67-64

(ST. JOHN'S, N.L.) - An 11-2 run midway through the fourth quarter run propelled the Memorial Sea-Hawks to a 67-64 win over the UPEI Panthers in AUS women's basketball on Saturday evening in St. John's.

Fourth-year Sea-Hawks guard Kelia Pond had nine of her team-high 20 points in the final frame, including five during the momentum changing run.

Rookie Sydney Stewart was the Subway Player of the Game for Memorial with 15 points and five steals off the bench. Fellow rookie Chante Clarke also gave head coach Doug Partridge a contribution off the bench with nine points and nine rebounds.

St. John's native Amy Gough had a game-high 21 points in the loss for the Panthers.

Memorial improved to 9-8 with the win while UPEI fell to 8-10.
