Capers complete weekend sweep of Sea-Hawks with 70-50 win

(SYDNEY, N.S.) - The Cape Breton Capers men's basketball team completed a two-game sweep of the Memorial Sea-Hawks on Sunday with a 70-50 victory at Sullivan Field House.

AJ Geugjes led four Capers in double figures as Cape Breton University downed the Memorial Sea-hawks 70-50 in AUS men's basketball action in Sydney Sunday.

Geugjes had 13 points and seven rebounds the Capers, who improved to 3-1 on the year.

Sean McCormick chipped in with 12 points and 14 boards for the winners.

Seth Amoah and Kelson Devereaux had 11 and 10 points respectively for the Capers.

Ryan Wood had nine points and five rebounds for the Sea-hawks while Vasillje Curcic finished with eight points and six rebounds in a losing cause.

With the win, CBU improves to 3-1, good enough for a tie for second place in the AUS standings. The Sea-Hawks remain winless and drop to 0-4.

The Capers will hit the road next weekend for a pair of games against the Saint Mary's Huskies in Halifax. Memorial will return home and host the StFX X-Men for two games in St. John's next Saturday and Sunday.
