Axemen earn win off of 2 unanswered goals in 2nd half

WOLFVILLE, N.S. - The Axemen soccer team improved to 3-0-1 with a convincing 2-0 win over the visiting Memorial Sea-Hawks. Third year striker Matthew Berrigan's goal at the 58th minute ended up being the eventual game winner.

Berrigan's effort in scoring after making his way to the front of the net at the top of the box after a Cory Cadeau feed earned him the Subway Player of the Game honours. The goal was Berrigan's third of the regular season.

Second year midfielder Cooper Coats solidified the win with a goal in the 89th minute - his second goal of the season.

Sea-Hawk Mark Brefo earned the Subway Player of the Game for Memorial.

The Axemen head to Sydney, N.S. to take on the undefeated 4-0-1 Cape Breton Capers, while Memorial heads to Halifax to take on the 3-2-0 Dalhousie Tigers on Saturday followed by a Sunday game against 1-1-3 Saint Mary's Huskies.
