2022 U SPORTS Women’s Volleyball Championship Quarterfinal 1: Mount Royal sweeps Brock to kick off tournament
CALGARY – Madison Marshall and Nyadholi Thokbuom each finished with 10 kills while Haley Roe added nine as Mount Royal swept Brock, 3-0 (25-20, 25-14, 21), in Friday’s opening quarter-final match at the 2022 U SPORTS Women’s Volleyball Championship at the Jack Simpson Gym.

CALGARY – Madison Marshall and Nyadholi Thokbuom each finished with 10 kills while Haley Roe added nine as Mount Royal swept Brock, 3-0 (25-20, 25-14, 21), in Friday's opening quarter-final match at the 2022 U SPORTS Women's Volleyball Championship at the Jack Simpson Gym.
Marshall added six digs, two aces and one block to go with her 10 kills on the day and teammate Quinn Pelland dished out a game-high 29 assists for the Cougars, while Aleiah Torres notched a match-high 11 digs to go with two aces and Sara Rohr had 26 assists in the loss for the Badgers.
In front of a friendly hometown crowd, Mount Royal finished hitting .305 for the match and kept Brock off balance all afternoon, limiting them to hit just .101.
With the win, the Cougars are the first team to claim a spot in the semi-finals, where they will take on the winner of No. 3 Alberta/No. 6 Dalhousie at 6 p.m. Saturday, while the Badgers will face the loser of that Pandas/Tigers opener at 1 p.m. Saturday.
