Gaiters shut out 6-0 by No. 3 Montreal in womens soccer
LENNOXVILLE, Que. – A pair of goals by Isabelle Dumais led the No. 3-ranked Montreal Carabins to a 6-0 shutout of the Bishop's Gaiters in Quebec University Soccer League action at the CEPSUM stadium in Montreal. Dumais' brace gave the Carabins their fourth straight win, and fifth in their past six games.
The other Montreal goals came from Emmanuelle Béliveau-Labrecque, Audrey Lagresle and Mathilde Fau, as the Carabins improved their record to 8-1-1 on the year.
Becky Yates (Halifax, N.S.) made nine saves in goal for the Gaiters. Gabrielle Gauthier and Sarah Therien shared the shutout for Montreal, with Therien making the Carabins' lone save of the contest. Chelsea Gaffney (Whitby, Ont.) took game MVP honours for Bishop's.
The Gaiters (1-8-1) return to action on Friday, as they visit the UQAM Citadins (3-6-1). Kickoff at the Claude Robillard sports centre is set for 7 p.m.
