Alberta Pandas cruise past Laval in consolation final
The Alberta Pandas capped off their season with a dominant 64-38 victory over the Laval Rouge et Or in the 5th-place game at the 2025 INDOCHINO U SPORTS Women's Final 8, presented by Victory Creative Group, at War Memorial Gymnasium. The Pandas controlled the game from start to finish, building a 31-17 halftime lead and never looking back.
Claire Signatovich led Alberta with a game-high 16 points and 15 rebounds, showcasing her dominance in the paint. Annacy Palmer added 12 points, while Kiah Easton-Ihediohanma contributed nine, including a perfect 3-for-3 from beyond the arc. The Pandas shot 44.2 per cent from the field and 50 per cent from three-point range, while their defense held Laval to just 19.2 per cent shooting overall.
Laval struggled offensively, with Sabrine Khelifi leading the team with eight points and 11 rebounds. The Rouge et Or shot a paltry 3.1 per cent from three-point range and turned the ball over 20 times. Alberta capitalized on Laval's mistakes, scoring 17 points off turnovers.
The Pandas' strong performance secured a fifth-place finish in the national tournament, ending their season on a high note with a 27-5 record. Laval, meanwhile, finished sixth, and wraps up 2024-25 at 26-5.
