Reece Baxendale's free throw with 39 seconds remaining proved to be the winner as the UPEI Panthers defeated the Ryerson Rams 75-70 in their quarterfinal game at the 2020 U SPORTS Final 8 Basketball Championships on Thursday at The Arena at TD Place.
Baxendale had 19 points and added nine rebounds while U SPORTS Player of the Year Jenna Mae Ellsworth added 22 points, 13 rebounds and five assists for the Panthers. Marin Scotten had 31 points, 10 rebounds and two assists in a losing cause for the Rams.
