Dawson Holt scored twice as the Saskatchewan Huskies defeated the Queen's Gaels 4-2 in the fourth quarterfinal of the 2025 BioSteel University Cup on Friday at The Arena at TD Place.
Holt's first goal came on the power play at 7:13 of the first period, tying the game after Queen's opened the scoring just 1:42 in through Liam Tanner. The Gaels reclaimed the lead with a power-play goal of their own from Nolan Hutcheson at 10:13, but Holt struck again early in the second period to make it 2-2.
Justin Ball put Saskatchewan ahead with another power-play marker at 14:23 of the second, and Ethan Regnier added an empty-netter with 10 seconds remaining to seal the win.
Goaltender Roddy Ross made 38 saves for the Huskies, backstopping his team to victory despite being outshot 40-23. Queen's netminder Christian Purboo stopped 19 shots in the loss.
The Huskies advance to the semifinals, while the Gaels drop to the consolation bracket.
