The Saskatchewan Huskies secured the bronze medal at the 2025 BioSteel U SPORTS University Cup with a 4-1 victory over the Toronto Metropolitan Bold on Sunday.
Vince Loschiavo scored twice in the third period to lead Saskatchewan to its first national medal since 2018. Justin Ball and Landon Kosior also found the back of the net for the Huskies, who controlled play in the final two periods.\
Toronto Metropolitan got its lone goal from Kevin Gursoy on a second-period power play, but the Bold were unable to solve Huskies goaltender Roddy Ross, who finished with 17 saves.
Ball opened the scoring for Saskatchewan with a power-play goal at 10:58 of the second, and Kosior doubled the lead at 16:02. TMU responded just over a minute later on Gursoy's power-play tally, assisted by Joseph Ianniello and Connor Bowie, but Saskatchewan shut the door the rest of the way.
Loschiavo restored the two-goal lead at 17:50 of the third before sealing the victory with an empty-netter at 19:21.
Kai Edmonds made 20 saves for TMU in the loss.
