The Voyageurs came out on the losing end against a strong foe in the form of the Toronto Varsity Blues by a score of 1-0 on Friday night.

The first half was fairly even between both sides as they recorded similar shots, corner kicks and saves. However, the Varsity Blues would be the only one to find the back of the net when Atchu Sivanathan headed in a goal with the assist coming from Kenny Lioutas in the 23rd minute of the match. Continuing on, both teams pressed either for an equalizer or extra advantage but neither would be able to achieve their goals. Eventually, the first half came to an end with the Varsity Blues holding a one goal advantage over the Voyageurs.

Unfortunately for the Voyageurs, the second half took a turn for the worse as they were unable to record a single shot on goal. Even though, their defence stood its ground and did not allow more goals, the Voyageurs were simply unable to recover from the early deficit and dropped their first meeting against the seventh ranked team in the country by a score of 1-0.

The Voyageurs will now regroup and refocus for their next encounter which occurs next Saturday, September 28 against the RMC Paladins in Kingston. Kick off is scheduled for 2:15 pm.
