The Laval Rouge et Or defeated the Tigers 3-0 (25-21, 25-22, 25-14) in Friday night RSEQ action.

After trading points early in the first set, a long rally was ended by Michael Donovan (London, ON) with a kill from the middle. Donovan played a key role in another long rally soon after with a huge block sending the ball to the Rouge et Or side of the court. Laval won the tightly contested second set 25-21.

The close battle continued in the second set, with the teams again trading points early on. A time out by Dalhousie was not able to break Laval's momentum who continued to press through to the technical timeout up 16-12. The Tigers inability to capitalize on Laval's errors hampered them late in the second set. Laval won it 25-22 to go ahead 2-0 in the game.

Laval started the third set strong with strong play from Max Losier and Jonathan Girard and didn't look back, winning the third set 25-14. The Tigers faded in the third set, scoring just nine kills in the set. Donovan finished the game with 13 kills, the leader for the Tigers, while Jeffrey Walton (Sudbury, ON) had a strong game in the back court with eight digs.

Laval's setter Ludovic Martin was named the player of the game.

The win moves Laval into a tie with Montreal for first place, while the Tigers remain in fourth. The Tigers and Rouge et Or are back in action Saturday afternoon at 2pm.
