TORONTO, Ont. – The Ontario Tech Ridgebacks women's soccer team was shutout 3-0 by the Ryerson Rams on Sunday, despite opportunities being relatively even throughout the game.
Similar to Friday night, the Ridgebacks allowed an early goal, this time by Ryerson's Alex Rodkin in the third minute. Her goal stood as the game winner and was the Rams' only tally in the half.
To change up usual gameplay, both team's received a red card in the 25
th minute of play as Samantha Naus and
Taijah Henderson (Ajax, Ont.) were sent off the pitch leaving each team with 10 aside.
The Rams next capitalized in the 66
th minute as Brooke Pearson scored the insurance marker. Jade Vyfhuis iced the match in the 72
nd minute.
Rookie keeper
Alicia Chisholm (Woodbridge, Ont.) made two saves in the loss. Elisa Lapadula made four saves for the clean sheet victory.
Ontario Tech now has the week off as they prepare to hose the Trent Excalibur on Sunday, Sept. 22. Kick off is scheduled for 1 p.m. at Vaso's Field.
