Four Gee-Gees recorded multi-point games as Ottawa defeated the Nipissing Lakers 5-1 Sunday evening in North Bay.
Adam Kim, Mathieu Desgagnés and Max Grondin each recorded a goal and an assist, while Jean-Robin Mantha had a pair of helpers to secure the win.
Grayson Ladd and Grondin got the scoring started, but the Lakers pulled one back late in the opening frame. It would be all Gee-Gees the rest of the way however, as Ottawa three unanswered goals and outshot the Lakers 32-22.
The Nipissing game served as a nice bounce back after a 4-1 loss to Ontario Tech the night prior. Nicolas Ouellet got the lone goal, setup by Daniel Hardie and Peter Stratis.
Jean-Philippe Tourigny played both games on the weekend, improving his record to 4-3-0 on the year with a 2.39 goals against average and a .918 save percentage.
Mathieu Desgagnés continues to lead the team in goals (eight) and points (12) through eleven games.
Ottawa now sports a 6-5-0 record, good for fifth place in the OUA East. They are only four points behind the first place UQTR Patriotes, but have played one more game than the Pats.
The Gee-Gees entertain the RMC Paladins and Queen's Gaels this coming weekend at the Minto Sports Complex. Puck drop is at 7:00 p.m. on Friday and 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, respectively. Tickets are on sale at tickets.geegees.ca.
