(Sydney, NS) The Acadia Axewomen finished strong for an 87-73 win over the home CBU CAPERS in women's AUS basketball season.
Acadia's Samantha Russell put up 30 points and 17 rebounds to lead the Axewomen to the win. Bianca Helmig chipped in with 22 points along with Lisa Bolander with 16.
CAPER Kiyara Letlow, with another double-double, scored 24 points and added 11 rebounds. Alicia Bowering contributed 13 points and Chermensa Van la Parra added 11.
In the 3rd quarter of this game, Kiyara Letlow broke the AUS career rebounding record. She surpassed the record of 1022 rebounds that was set by fellow CAPER Alison Keough in her 2017-18 season.
The Axewomen are on the road tomorrow, Saturday, January 18 at StFX with a tip-off of 6pm. The CAPERS will be hosting StFX at the Sullivan Fieldhouse on Thursday, January 23 at 6pm.
