ST. JOHN'S, NL - The Acadia Axewomen finish this weekend with a new 5-0-1 record for the season and the Sea-Hawks improve their record to 4-2-2.  
 
The Sea-Hawks had a chance to be first on the board when Lauren Taylor of the Sea-Hawks sent in a corner kick six minutes in but teammate Torraville couldn't get her header close enough on the net.   

In the 16th minute, Lauren Jodrey had an attempt for the Axewomen from a free-kick just outside the top corner of the eighteen but it would fly just high of the crossbar.  

Holly O'Neill tried for Memorial in the 29th minute during a scramble in front of Acadia's net but it wouldn't be enough for a goal. Two minutes later, O'Neill came back with a big shot from the top of the eighteen but it would end up being too high. 

Even after a few good looks by each team, the scoreboard remained empty going into half-time.  
 
After the half #18 Alexandra Scovil of Acadia had a great opportunity on a break-away at the net but Sea-Hawks keeper Sydney Walsh would come and sliding and kick it to safety.  

Sea-Hawks had another close call for a goal when forward Holly O'Neill took a big cross-shot at Sarah Charnock the keeper of Acadia but it would fly just high of the net. Shortly after in the 71st minute, Nicole Torraville of Memorial would take a free-kick from the right side of the eighteen but left upset after it skimmed off the crossbar.  

Acadia came out strong again today but the Sea-Hawks brought some tight defense and wouldn't allow for a goal. The AUS Subway player of the game was awarded to Memorial's Chantel Armstrong for her aggressive defense throughout the match.  
 
The Sea-Hawks don't play again until Saturday, October 19th when they will travel to play Cape Breton and St.FX on October 20th.
