It was the Gaels who wasted no time in finding defensive gaps in the Gryphons' defence to quickly jump ahead by seven early in the first.  While the defence slowly shut down the Queen's opportunities in the paint, the offence struggled to find their rhythm, and offensive miscommunications kept the Gryphons searching for the equalizing basket as the first quarter rounded out at 19-13 for Queen's.

The Gryphons came into the second determined to make up for earlier mistakes by draining two consecutive baskets to make their presence known.  With the offence and defence establishing their rhythm, the Gryphons were able to shut down the Gaels' offensive front to outshoot the Gaels 15-13 to cut the Queen's lead to four going into the half.

Guelph opened the second half with an incredible string of plays to piece together an unanswered streak of 11 to take the reigns and outshoot the Gaels in back-to-back quarters to take the first lead of the night.  The Gaels, determined to keep the Gryphons in check mounted an offensive attack in response but failed to stop Kate MacTavish who drained the equalizing basket to put the game at 48 going into the final quarter.

Kayla Goodhoofd (Oakville, Ont) opened the fourth with an explosive three that would eventually carry the Gryphon momentum through to the buzzer.  With great defensive rebounds and field goal accuracy, the Gryphons were able to hold off to end the night atop the Gaels 71-62.

The Gryphons travel to Ottawa in hopes of extending their two-game streak as they take on the Ottawa Gee Gees.  The game is set to start at 6:00 pm on November 23.
