The men's volleyball team fell 3-2 to the U SPORTS No. 3 ranked Sherbrooke Vert et Or Saturday afternoon in Halifax.

Sherbooke got out to an early lead in the first set and led by as many nine points midway through. The Vert et Or's attackers boasted a 70% hitting percentage and capitalized on a number of Tigers hitting errors to take the set 25-16.

The Tigers came out stronger in the second and were able to maintain an early lead until Sherbrooke tied it up 11-11. Dalhousie regained control soon after and went on to win 25-19 to tie the match at one set apiece.

The teams traded points early on in the third with the Tigers leading most of the way until Sherbrooke found a rhythm and slowly pulled away to take the set 25-18.

Dalhousie rebounded in the fourth to out-muscle Sherbrook at the net and tied the match at two sets apiece with a narrow 25-22 win.

In the fifth and final set, Dalhousie mounted a charge to get things started but some unforced errors gave Sherbrooke the momentum they needed to close out the match 3-2 with a 15-8 win in the fifth.

Sherbrooke's Jeremie Doyon had 16 kills, 11 digs with Julien Vanier adding 11 kills and two blocks and Jonathan Portelance had 14 digs and five kills.

Josh DeYoung was the top player for the Tigers with 21 kills, four digs and three blocks. Michael Donovan added 18 kills, seven digs and three blocks, while Lucas Condon-Oldreive had nine kills and seven blocks.

The Tigers are back in action next weekend when they head to UNB for back-to-back matches Friday and Saturday nights.
