WOLFVILLE, N.S. – Grace Longley's first of two goals was enough for the win as the Axewomen handed the visiting Moncton Aigles Bleues a 3-0 loss.

Longley, who was named the Subway Player of the Game, netted two goals including the opening and eventual game winning goal along with the third and final goal at the 53 minute.

The Axewomen landed 22 shots, testing Moncton's Chelsea Burnham with seven saves. Burnham was named the Moncton Player of the Game for her outstanding performance. Acadia's keeper Milena Ramirez recorded her second consecutive shutout.

Acadia opened the scoring at a long kick from the sideline by Longley at the 27 minute mark as she approached the Aigles Bleues net.

Axewoman Jayden Boudreau scored her third goal of the season on an unassisted shot at 32 minutes.

Longley scored her second goal of the night in the second half of a great second effort to get a shot away after pulling down a lose bouncing ball within the 18 yard box.

A great effort was highlighted by improving team cohesion of a young Axewoman roster.

"We've been talking about it in the dressing room about trying to get closer as a team. That's a big part of it. If you are close with your team, you have a better shot at being close and trusting each other on the field. I think going in to our UPEI game, we had a better mentality to play together as a team, because none of us know each other that well. We kinda gelled in that game, giving us confidence to go forward into this game. I think we proved to ourselves this," noted third year midfielder Grace Longley.

The Axewomen head to Cape Breton on Sunday to take on the undefeated Capers, while the Aigles Bleues head to Dalhousie tomorrow to take on the Tigers in Halifax.
