Soccer Axemen dropped by visiting Sea-Hawks

WOLFVILLE, N.S. – The Memorial Sea-Hawks improved to 5-4-1 with a convincing 4-0 win over the host Acadia Axemen. The Axemen, who came off of a 1-1 tie against the nationally-ranked Cape Breton Capers last Sunday, settled with the loss.

Subway Player of the Game, Emmanuel Dolo was the difference, netting two goals in the Sea-Hawks' win.

Dolo accounted for four of the seven Memorial shots on goal.

At the 11 minute mark, Dolo was able to kick in a rebound from a high kick that Andrew Nutt got a piece of but the ball bounced off the crossbar and landed at the foot of Dolo in the crease for an easy tap in to open the game.

Ten minutes later, Dolo used his speed and ball-handling skills to race around an Acadia defender in the 18-yard box and nail a low ball to the far corner passed Nutt for his second of two goals.

The Sea-Hawks scored their third goal, five minutes into the second half when Taj Exley kicked in the rebound off a corner kick in a crowded front of the Axemen net.

Just over five minutes later, Memorial would score their fourth and last goal of the day after Dolo made his way along the end line beside the Axemen net to eventually feed teammate Felly Elonda for the easy tap in.

The Sea-Hawks host Moncton next weekend in St. John's, NL, while the Axemen close out the season at home against UPEI on Friday night.
