Sydney, NS – The CAPERS came out strong and never looked back in a one-sided affair as CBU defeated the Saint Mary's Huskies 82-61.
The CAPERS outscored the Huskies 29-9 in the third quarter to lead by as many as 36 at one point.
SMU closed the gap in garbage time. The CAPERS used a balanced attack led by the usual suspects.
Paul Watson (Mississauga, ON) had 17 points and 17 rebounds and Osman Omar (Mississauga, ON) had 14 points. Jason Callaghan (Sydney, NS) and CJ Bennett also scored in double digits.
Qyemah Gibson led the Huskies with 13 points and 6 rebounds. SMU's Will Spaulding had a game-high 4 assists.
The Huskies host the UPEI Panthers on Janujary 10th & 11th at the Homburg Centre. Game times 8 p.m.
