The Voyageurs women's basketball team began their exhibition season with a trip to the Waterloo region for three games in three days.

The trip began with a visit to the Waterloo Warriors on Thursday night.  The Warriors built an early lead in the first quarter and continued to add to it at the end of each period, eventually handing the Voyageurs a 66-54 defeat.  Veteran guard, Sydney Tabin, who tallied 14 points on 5-10 shooting, and a pair of first year posts, Aneisha Rismond and Émilie Lafond, who scored 11 and 10 points, respectively, led the Voyageurs.

On Friday night, the Voyageurs headed to Guelph to face the Gryphons.  The Gryphons jumped out to a 10-2 lead early in the first quarter and kept the pedal down the entire game, cruising to an 87-50 victory.  Lafond was a leader once again, tallying 14 points on 6-9 shooting while Sydney Tabin chipped in with eight points and 10 rebounds.

On Saturday afternoon, the team wrapped up their weekend with a visit to the Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks.  Much like the day before, the opposition came out flying and the Voyageurs had trouble keeping up, until the fourth quarter.  Finding themselves down 25 points after three quarters, the team dug deep and outscored the Golden Hawks 26-14 in the final frame, falling by a final score of 82-69.  Bailey Tabin led the way for the blue and gold, pouring in 25 points in the losing effort.

The team is back on the road this coming weekend when they head down to Windsor for a pair of exhibition games against the Lancers.
