(FREDERICTON, NB) The Dalhousie Tigers beat the UNB Reds 3-0 in the final match of day two of the Atlantic University Sport league tournament, at UNB's Richard J. Currie Center.

The Tigers won with scores of 25-15, 25-21 and 25-18.

Tigers setter Courtney Baker (Bridgewater, NS) had a game-high 31 assists, earning Subway Player of the Game honours.

Dalhousie is undefeated through seven games this season.

"I think we have a pretty dynamic, deep team. If we are struggling with one person there is someone on the bench who can come in, make plays for us and help us out. So, I think that's huge," said Baker.

UNB would keep pace with Dalhousie to start the game, trailing just 12-11 early in the first set.

The Tigers would take over from that point, going on an 8-0 run that propelled them to their 25-15 first set victory

In the second, the Tigers had the Reds doubled up 16-8 at the technical time-out.

UNB would gain some momentum with 5-0 run late in the set, coming within three points, but the lead would be too much to overcome and Dalhousie would take the set 25-21 for a 2-0 lead.

"It's definitely disappointing, but we had some very good moments and we battled hard, but we just didn't turn it on soon enough," said Reds outside hitter Victoria Eadle (Gallagher Ridge, NB).

A similar set would play out in the third as the Tigers topped the Reds once more, 25-18 for the straight-sets victory.

Eadle had nine kills and 10 digs for UNB while Bailey Lemieux (Fredericton, NB) had seven kills and 14 digs.

Julie Moore (Halifax, NS) also added 10 kills and six digs for Dalhousie.

The Reds, now 3-and-5, will wrap up their tournament play against the Saint Mary's Huskies on Sunday, at 3:00pm.

The Tigers play their final tournament game against the Acadia Axewomen on Sunday at 1:00pm.
