Moncton edged Dalhousie in a shootout, the Saturday night men's hockey game at the Halifax Forum, 2-1.

Moncton started the game on the front foot with Jeremy Michel (Levis, QC) cracking the first shot for the Aisles Bleus. A back-and-forth period, that had very few calls, saw the teams tied at 11 shots each by the time the final horn sounded. Neither team were able to convert on their shots, leaving the game tied 0-0 going into the first intermission.

The Aisles Bleus turned up the heat during a feisty second period. Just over eight minutes in, Olivier-Luc Hashe (Savoie Landing, NB) scored his second goal of the year off a rebound to put the first point on the board and give Moncton a 1-0. Despite the intensity of the play, only one penalty was called. Another quick period ended 1-0 for Moncton.

Jarrett Baker (Black Rock, NS) tied it up for the Tigers midway through the third period which pushed the game into overtime. Campbell Pickard (Halifax, NS) had the helper.

The overtime period solved nothing. Moncton's goaltender Felix-Anthony Ethier (Deux-Montagnes, QC) blocked out all five of the shots from the Tigers.

During the shootout, both Mika Cyr (Sainte- Anne, NB) and Michel found the back of the net for Moncton, with only Baker finding the back of the net for the Tigers. Moncton won 2-1.

Both teams will now gear up for their next game Friday, November 4 at 7pm as the Tigers take on Acadia at the Andrew H McCain Arena, and the Aigles Bleues play UNB in Moncton.
