Tigers early second half goal sticks for a 1-0 win vs Axemen

WOLFVILLE, N.S. – Subway Player of the Game, Luke Berryman opened the second half at the 48th minute with a goal that would stand for the remainder of the game to give the visiting Dalhousie Tigers a 1-0 win.

Berryman's goal came off of a cross-field pass from the deep corner by teammate William Warren that Berryman popped into the top corner, out of reach of Acadia's keeper Michael O'Flynn.

The Axemen outshot the Tigers 11-8 and tested Dalhousie's Aiden Rushenas with six saves for the win.

Acadia's Zane Brennan had a great feed to Liam Kelly in front of the Tiger net to only be stopped by Rushenas at the 72nd minute.

The Tigers held on to the win and improve to 4-2-1, with three wins in a row. Dalhousie finds themselves tied for the fifth spot in the standings with Memorial and trailing fourth place Cape Breton by a point.

The Axemen lose their sixth in a row, including their last two losses by a single point. Acadia's record drops to 1-7.

The Tigers travel to UPEI on October 17, while the Axemen travel to StFX on October 16 and then to Cape Breton on October 17.
