Unlucky bounce gives the Rams a 1-0 win

Unlucky bounce gives the Rams a 1-0 win

It was the very last home game for the seniors on the Voyageurs, unfortunately, mother nature did not care as there was a piercing cold breeze under the lights of James Jerome turf. The game started slowly with not a lot of action happening within the first 10 minutes. The pace of play started to ramp up with Ryerson having three shots in quick succession with Jocelyne Way making crucial saves to keep the game scoreless. Way's last diving save sprung a counter-attack for the Voyageurs with a beautiful long ball through to Elizabeth Anderson, Anderson struck the ball hard and low with Ryerson Goalie making a great save. The score went into half 0-0.

Out of the halftime break, both teams came firing out the gate with quick tempo play; both teams created a solid scoring chance each. Ryerson finally broke the deadlock with an unfortunate bounce against the Voyageurs. A clearing attempt bounces off the Ryerson striker and ping pong into the net giving the Rams a one-goal lead in 54 minutes. The unlucky goal seemed to crush the Voyageurs as Ryerson used the momentum from the goal to start to dominate the midfield for the remainder of the game, only allowing the Voyageurs one more shot on goal for the remainder of the match. The full-time whistle blew with a score of 1-0 for the Rams.

The Voyageurs' record is 1-6-1 with their final two games being played away at Ryerson and Algoma. The team will have a chance to play against the Rams this Sunday and hopefully, the luck will be on their side that day!
