Memorial scores twice in second-half to win

(HALIFAX, N.S.)—Jessie Noseworthy paced the Memorial offence Saturday afternoon with two goals in the Sea-Hawks 3-1 victory over the Saint Mary's Huskies in Atlantic University Sport women's soccer action.

Noseworthy (St. John's, NF) scored her first goal in the 44th minute and added her second in the 75th with an assist from Lauren Taylor (St. John's, NF).

Saint Mary's Jill MacDonald (Fall River, N.S.) put the Huskies up 1-0 early in the 16th minute with an assist from Mary Bennett (Vernon, B.C.).

The goal was the first given up by Memorial on the season.

Nicole Torraville (St. John's, NF) tallied unassisted for the Sea-Hawks in the 52nd minute.

With the win, Sydney Walsh (St. John's, NF) improves to 4-0 on the year and recorded seven saves Saturday.

Ashley Blank (Dartmouth, N.S.) made nine saves for the Huskies. Memorial paced SMU in shots (22-14) corner kicks (12-3).

Memorial improves to 3-0 (9 points) and face 3-0 Dalhousie Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m.

Saint Mary's hits the road for a pair on games September 23rd-24th versus 1-2 UPEI and 0-3 Mount Allison.
