WHKY | Voyageurs Drop Pre-Season Opener
Your Laurentian Voyageurs women's hockey team started their hockey season with an exhibition game today, September 21st, against the Ottawa Gee-Gees.
Morgan McCann and Gabby Jex would be the only two goal scorers for the Vees and Michele Weaver-Vitale would be awarded the only helper of the game.
The much more successful Ottawa attack would trump the Voyageurs two goals by scoring a total of four by Sophie Gareau, Marimee Parent, Taylor McGaughey and Christine Deaudelin.
Shanna Dolighan would stop 48 of the 52 shots fired her way on the afternoon.
The Vees are back on the ice for another exhibition game on October 5th away against the Nipissing Lakers.
