Tigers drop semifinal to Huskies 79-76

Theon Reefer had 16 points and eight rebounds in the Huskies 79-76 win over the Dalhousie Tigers in the second semifinal of the Rod and Joan Memorial Men's Basketball Tournament.

After a close first quarter, the Huskies outscored the Tigers 28-15 in the second to secure a 46-32 lead heading into the half. The Tigers battled hard to catch up in the fourth, but it wouldn't be enough as the Huskies took the game 79-76.

Brent Martindale also had 16 points for the Huskies, while Kemar Alleyne and Brett Parrott had 15 and 13, respectively.

Kashrell Lawrence was the top point-getter for the Tigers with 19 points, seven rebounds and three steals. Ritchie Kanza Mata had 17 points and seven rebounds, while Jarred Reid added 14 points to the Tigers total.

The Huskies advance to the championship final against the Ottawa Gee-Gees at 3pm on Saturday. The Tigers will battle StFX in the consolation final at 1pm.
