For the second straight night the Mount Allison Mounties skated into overtime but this time they found what they were looking for, picking up a 1-0 win over Dalhousie at home.

It was the two goalies that held the upper hand all night long as neither team could score in regulation. Mount Allison's Bianca Zak picked up her first shutout of the season by turning away all 23 shots she faced from Dalhousie. Fabiana Petrricca stopped 25 of 26 shots from the Mounties in the loss.

After three scoreless periods it was third year Mountie Emma Schurman who ended the game with a rocket to the top corner over Petricca's shoulder. Schurman grabbed the puck in the neutral zone and took space on a 2 on 1 before burying the game winner.

Lauren Ellerton, Annika Rose and Kennedy Whelan each had three shots on net in the loss.

For the Mounties, the win gives them 3 of 4 points on the opening weekend of the second half of the season. Dalhousie continues on to Fredericton for a game with St. Thomas on Sunday.
