Moncton, NB – The STFX X-Men improved to 3-0 early in the AUS season with a 2-0 blanking over the Universite de Aigles Bleus Saturday afternoon at Stade Croix Bleue Medavie Stadium.

Freshman forward Cam Shaw opened the scoring in the 34th minute, then assisted on the X-Men's second goal six minutes later as veteran X midfielder Nick Aquino found the back of the Moncton net.

The 2-0 lead was all the X-Men needed to secure the win as both teams were held scoreless throughout the second half.

STFX keepers Will Veinot and Jae Jeon combined to register the shutout, turning aside a total of four Moncton shots on goal. Christian Masimengo made six saves in the loss for Moncton.

Aquino was rewarded with Subway Player of the Game honours for his efforts for the X-Men.

STFX will be back in action on Sunday afternoon as they travel to Fredericton to face the UNB Reds in a 3:15 pm game. Moncton will host Cape Breton on Sunday, also at 3:15.
