Mounties edge Huskies 3-2 in final minutes

(Sackville, NB)  The Mount Allison Mounties defeat the SMU Huskies on home turf for their first win of the 2017 season.

 

The Mounties start strong, dominating the first half of the game. Katherine Ollerhead scores the first goal of the game, also the first goal of the regular season for MTA.

 

The Huskies come back strong after halftime, taking the lead in the 65th minute from Itai Kuwodza and Mary Bennett's goals.

 

Taryn MacMillan quickly ties the game with her first goal of the season. It is a strong fight from both teams for the duration of the game. Taryn MacMillan breaks away at the 90th minute and scores, winning the game 3-2 for the Mount Allison Mounts.

 

The Subway Player of the Game is awarded to MTA Mountie Taryn MacMillan.

 

MTA will play their next home game against the Dalhousie Tigers on Saturday, September 30th at 1:00PM and the Huskies host the UPEI Panthers next Friday night at Huskies Stadium.
