Moncton defeats Tigers 5-3

The Université de Moncton Aigles Bleues (4-8-1-0=9pts, 7th position) came back from a 2-goal deficit and Mika Cyr scored a first university career hat trick to defeat the Dalhousie University Tigers (6-6-1-0=13pts, 5th position) 5-3 on Friday in front of more than 900 spectators at the Dieppe UNIplex Centre in an Atlantic University Sport men's hockey game. 

The St. Francis Xavier University X-Men (9-4-1-0=19pts, 2nd position) will be the opponents of the Blue and Gold on Saturday at the J.-Louis-Lévesque Arena at 7 p.m. 

The visitors quickly took a 2-0 lead in the 3rd minute of play on goals by Derek Gentile at 1:32 and Chandler Yakimowicz, two minutes later. The Aigles Bleus then took control of the game with three goals in a row by Nathaël Roy (Vincent Deslauriers, Mika Cyr), on the power play, Mika Cyr (Wilson Forest, Deslauriers) on penalty kill on a breakaway and Remy Englehart (Roy and Alexis Arsenault) before the end of the period to take the lead 3-2 and not look back. 

Cyr (Roy, Olivier Desjardins), and Cyr (unassisted) with his third, in an empty net at the end of the period completed the scoring in the third following a goalless second period. Darien Kielb had narrowed the gap to a goal in the 17th minute of the third for the visitors who then took their goalkeeper away in favor of an extra attacker. Cyr added one pass and Vincent Deslauriers and Nathaël Roy, two each. Olivier Luc-Haché won 13 of 15 face-offs and Deslaurieurs, 16 of 26. Émile Samson had 22 shots (4-12-6) against 29 (9-8-12) for Reilly Pickard. 

Moncton was 1 for 4 in the power play and Dalhousie, 0 for 6. The game was fast moving with several checks during the three periods. Mika Cyr finished the game at +4. It was Moncton's first time this season they won two games in a row after a victory last Saturday.
