Moncton, NB - The Université de Moncton Aigles Bleus allowed three unanswered goals in the second and third periods to drop a 4-2 decision to the STFX X-Men in AUS action at the J.-Louis-Lévesque Arena Saturday night.

Moncton took a 2-1 lead in the first period with goals by Rémy Anglehart (Olivier-Luc Haché, Charles-Édouard Drouin) at 7:37 and Jacob Dion (Mika Cyr, Jérémy Michel), on the power play four minutes later.

Josh Nelson, from Liam Hawel, had given the visitors a 1-0 lead at 4:20 of the opening period.

The X-Men then took control in the second with 13 shots to nine, and two goals to take a 3-2 lead.

Conner Bruggen-Cate (Philip, Smith) scored at 2:16 and Jacob Hudson (Hawel, Struthers) on the power play at 13:04.

Ethan Crossman (Webster, Nelson) rounded out the scoring in the third period for the X-Men.

The Aigles pulled their goalie with three minutes to play, and the X-Men had several rushes but were unable to score, thanks to the defensive fold of the home team.

Lucas Pfeil stopped 26 pucks for the win in front of the X net, while Étienne Montpetit had 24 saves in the loss as each squad had 28 shots in the game.

The Aigles Bleus will be in Nova Scotia next weekend with games against Saint Mary's on Friday and the Acadia on Saturday.

The X-Men will next face off on Wednesday night in Halifax against Dalhousie.
