Sea-Hawks get back in the win column with complete performance versus Panthers

ST. JOHN'S, NFLD—In a big matchup between the Memorial Sea-Hawks (3-6-1) and the UPEI Panthers (0-7-2), the home side was able to come away with a crucial 2-0 win.
The Sea-Hawks came out of the gates firing, outshooting the Panthers 6-3 in the opening half, and they were rewarded for their efforts. In the 34th minute Brent Hennebury was able to convert off a pass from Jacob Grant to put the Sea-Hawks on the board. The score remained 1-0 at the end of the opening half.
In the second half it was clear there was going to be a push from the visiting Panthers, and they registered an impressive 7 shots on target but were consistently denied by Sea-Hawks netminder Daniel Hanlon, who put together a stellar performance. Sea-Hawks forward Jacob Grant was able to add an insurance marker in the 71st minute, putting the home side ahead by a score of 2-0. The Sea-Hawks were able to stay back and defend the rest of the game, keeping the Panthers off the score sheet.
Jacob Grant was awarded the Player of the Game for his efforts in the Sea-Hawks victory, adding a goal and an assists while registering a game-high 6 shots on net. The Sea-Hawks and Panthers will be back on the field tomorrow at King George V Park at 3:15 PM NST.
