KINGSTON, Ont. – The Ontario Tech Ridgebacks kicked off their 2022 season against the Queen's Gaels on Saturday, falling 6-1.
Looking to get three points on the road to start off the season. Queen's jumped to a quick start, scoring in the fifth minute of play. Queen's doubled their lead in the 13
th minute as Sophie Miranda made it 2-0.
The Ridgebacks fought back as
Brogyn Tracey (Milton, Ont.) scored the lone goal for the Ridgebacks in the 37
th keeping Ontario Tech within one goal.
The Gaels came knocking before the half and make it 3-1 going into the break. Queen's would add three more in the second half, spoiling the Ridgebacks 2022 season opener.
Alicia Chisholm (Woodbridge, Ont.) made 15 saves during the match.
The Ridgebacks women's soccer team is next in action against the Durham Lords for the Campus Cup on Tuesday, Sept. 6.
