Sea-Hawks & Varsity Reds Battle to 0-0 Draw

(St. John's, NL) – The Memorial Sea-Hawks and UNB Varsity Reds battled to a scoreless draw on Saturday afternoon from King George Vth Pitch in AUS women's soccer action.

Although neither team was able to find the back of the net, there were plenty of chances for both sides with the Sea-Hawks registering 15 shots to UNB's 12.  Both keepers did well to keep their teams in it, with Memorial keeper Sydney Walsh finishing with 6 saves and UNB keeper Rebecca Duda making 5 saves for the clean sheet.

Memorial midfielder Nicole Torraville (St. John's, NL) led the Sea-Hawks in shots with 5 and had multiple opportunities to put her team on the board, but was unable to get one passed the UNB keeper.

For the Varsity Reds, Sylvie Fecteau, Rachel Burton, and Cierra Thomas has 2 shots each, with Thomas having a great chance late in the 2nd half, but just missed to the outside.

The draw improves the Sea-Hawks record to 4-1-2 on the season, while the Varsity Reds hold a 0-4-2 record.

Teri Murphy was named Subway Player of the Game from the Sea-Hawks.
