TORONTO – The Ryerson Rams women's basketball team lost for the first time on home court this season, dropping a 78-53 decision to the No. 2 nationally ranked Windsor Lancers on Friday night.

Windsor's big three, consisting of Jessica Clemencon (St. Rambert, France), Miah-Marie Langlois (Windsor, Ont.) and Korissa Williams (Windsor, Ont.), were at the forefront of the Lancers offence once again, combining for 41 points.
Williams finished with a game-high 17 points while Clemencon had a double-double with 13 points and 16 rebounds.
After allowing 53 first half points, the Rams settled into their game and limited the potent Lancers' offence to just 25 points in the second half.
“I was disappointed with the start...we didn't come out with enough fire. I think we found the fire eventually in the second half and you've got to bring that competitiveness if you're going to compete,” said head coach Carly Clarke after the game.
“When you're playing the best team in the country you've to play without fear. You're going to make mistakes but it's about effort and competing and understanding the pressure is on them. I think once we got over that fear we found a rhythm...and good things happened.”
Keneca Pingue-Giles (Winnipeg, Man.) led the Rams with 12 points on the night while Dayana Gechkova (Sofia, Bulgaria) added 11. Freshman guard Julia Robertson (Puslinch, Ont.) also had a strong game with seven points and six rebounds.
“I think I've been transitioning (to the OUA) really well because I'm a quick player. I like the speed of the game so it's been working in my favour,” said Robertson following the game.
The Rams will be back on the court on Saturday evening when they host the Western Mustangs with action beginning at 6:00 p.m. at the Mattamy Athletic Centre.
