Campoli scores twice as Ridgebacks draw fourth straight match

TORONTO, Ont. – In dramatic fashion the Ontario Tech University men's soccer team scored twice in the final 20 minutes of Sunday's match against the Ryerson Rams to earn a 3-3 draw.

The Ridgebacks' draw, against the No. 5 ranked Ryerson Rams, was the first time Ryerson hadn't won a match this season. It was also the fourth-straight draw for Ontario Tech since losing their opening match of the season.

Henrique Rodrigues opened the scoring for the Rams in the 30th minute, but Ontario Tech first-year midfielder Christopher Campoli (Woodbridge, Ont.) was quick to answer with his first OUA goal in the 34th minute.

At halftime the teams were tied 1-1.

The second half saw the Rams go ahead 3-1 on back-to-back goals by Abdallah El-Chanti in the 62nd and 72nd minute.

Cutting into the lead with his team-leading third goal of the season, Fadi Salback (Bowmanville, Ont.) scored by blocking a goal kick and it bouncing into the net.

Campoli's game-tying goal came in the 87th minute.

Nicholas Miller (Oshawa, Ont.) made three saves in the draw, while Ali Ghazanfari didn't make a save for the Rams in the match.

On Friday afternoon in Oshawa the two teams will face each other again. Kick off for the matinee match is scheduled for 1 p.m.
  Overall Record: 1-2-4 (W-L-D)
Conference Record: 0-1-4
