OSHAWA, Ont. – The Ontario Tech University women's soccer team got back in the win column on Saturday afternoon with a 3-0 victory over the visiting RMC Paladins.
The Ridgebacks constant pressure offensively throughout the first half resulted in a pair of late goals just minutes apart.
Taijah Henderson (Ajax, Ont.) finished off a scramble in front of the goal in the 37
th minute, before adding a second from a perfect strike in the 39
th minute.

Melanie Hoekstra (Bowmanville, Ont.) made it 3-0 for Ontario Tech. The Ridgebacks played a strong defensive game throughout the match, not allowing RMC many chances toward the net.
Olivia Tierney (King City, Ont.) made one save for the clean sheet victory, while Breanna Habinski had six saves in the loss for the Paladins.
"Our girls today stayed on task, which was great," said head coach
Peyvand Mossavat. "Now time to prepare for our next game."
With the win Ontario Tech moves ahead of Trent Excalibur into sixth place, claiming the final playoff spot, with a 3-5-2 record.
The Ridgebacks now have four matches left in the season with their next match at home on Sunday against the Queen's Gaels.
