(SACKVILLE, NB) After commemorating National Day of Truth and Reconciliation by reading some Calls to Action, both teams gave the hometown crowd much to cheer for.

An energetic start by the Mounties saw them take early control of the game and look to give the crowd a reason to get excited on a frigid last day of September.

Dalhousie seemed poised to threaten on a counterattack in the 20th minute but ultimately was not able to capitalize as the head referee blew the play dead after not playing the advantage.

The Tigers had the best chance just before half as a Mounties defender coughed up the ball, only to be bailed out by his keeper Rhys Chambers (Halifax, NS).

Both teams would come out hungry in the second half as they traded great offensive opportunities, but still could not solve the keepers. A fantastic save by Chambers kept this game scoreless as Mohammed Jaber (Halifax, NS) was sent in with a beautiful through ball by Kyle Routledge (Halifax, NS).

Tigers winger Jared Ndopedro (Campbellton, NS) would have the most chances by any player as he missed the goal on either side of the Mounties keeper.

As the final whistle sounded the Mounties came away with a long-awaited point, a sign that this program has perhaps turned the tide.

Dalhousie (2-1-2) will host Acadia on October 2 at 3:15 p.m.

Mount Allison (0-4-1) for their part will face the UNB Reds in Fredericton on October 6 at 7:15 p.m.
