(HALIFAX, N.S.)—In AUS women's soccer action the visiting Dalhousie Tigers defeated the host Saint Mary's Huskies 1-0 Thursday night at Huskies Stadium.
The Tigers' first-half goal by midfielder Adelle Goodfellow in the 28th minute was the lone score of the match.
The Halifax native took a pass from Stephanie Dyck (Mississauga, ONT.) over the SMU defence, chased down the ball and deposited it into the back of the net.
Dalhousie doubled up SMU in first-half shots (8-4) and finished with a 15-8 advantage.
The Tigers' held a 3-1 advantage in corner-kicks.
Huskies' goalie Ashley Blank (L, 0-3-0) finished with seven saves, five coming in the second-half from the Dartmouth, N.S. native.
Tiger's goalie Kate Fines (W, 3-0-0) made three saves as the Halifax native picked up the win.
Saint Mary's drops to 0-3 on the year while Dal improves to 3-0 on the season.
Both teams face a hot 2-0 Memorial University Sea-Hawks this weekend in Halifax.
The Sea-Hawks have not conceded a goal on the campaign and have scored 12 times.
Memorial will be at Huskies Stadiium on Saturday and faces Dalhousie on Sunday with both games set for 1 p.m. Atlantic time.
